  NEWPORT SPRINT RELAY EVENT INFORMATION Thursday 17 th July, 6.30pm The Riverfront (UNDER George Street Bridge, by Castle Bingo), Newport, NP20 2BP We look forward to seeing you all at our relay event for 2025. Please could you share the following information with your team(s) prior to the event. Parking 1. Please try to car share wherever possible, as there is limited on street parking. 2. There are several car parks close by within a short walking distance. Emlyn Street, Kingsway, Friars Walk, Riverfront by Riverfront Theatre.   Toilets 1. There are no toilet facilities available on site. The nearest toilets are at the University of South Wales, Newport Campus, or Friars Walk Shopping Centre (upstairs by bowling). RUNNewport are pleased to host the inaugural Newport Sprint Relay  on Thursday 17th July along Newport Riverfront.  The one-mile sprint relay race is an exciting and fast-paced event where teams of four runners each complete a mile leg. Spectators can expect thrilling exchanges and high intensity competition as every second counts.  The Newport Sprint Relay is suitable for runners of all abilities.   St David's Day Riverfront Parkrun takeover - RUNNewport did it in style!  What a beautiful Saturday morning it was for parkrun.   It's almost like the weather knew it was St David's Day!   P retty much all of the 30-odd volunteers today were provided by local social running club RUNNewport and we were more than delighted to see sun and blue skies, making volunteering even more fun than usual.   Every member was glad to offer their support to the 309 runners, whether that be by cheering them along the route, timing them over the line, scanning their barcode or in any one of the many other roles we were covering. RUNNewport is based in the heart of Newport, and with one of our weekly sessions being held along the riverfront, we are all very familiar with the flat and fast nature of Riverfront parkrun, which makes it ripe for PBs (of which there were many today).   Congratulations to our 3 coaches reaching a milestone today - Nicola Mayo doing her 100th park...
